WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STEAM ENHANCEMENT

WHAT?

STEAM ENHANCEMENT is a strategy of posing topics as problems that is cross-curricular. This enables your youngster to discover novel approaches to problem resolution while being creative and having fun.
The STEAM ENHANCEMENT method is a natural way for children to utilize science to figure out how the world works since they are intrinsically interested and open to learning. Engineering a play-sized treehouse or building a rain gauge to measure and observe water levels will encourage the type of learning that attracts persistent problem-solving ability.
The term “technology” connotes computers and the internet, but it also refers to any man-made thing. As they learn about how we use tools to complete activities, your kid will utilize simple equipment such as pulleys and ramps to uncover the relationships between cause and effect.
Engineering is the creative application of math, science, and technology to solve a problem. STEAM ENHANCEMENT allows each kid to use enjoyable and engaging materials to develop, build, and test solutions for understanding how things operate.
Art is an important component of STEAM for creating a creative attitude in your child. Opportunities to innovate, observe, and pretend will instill confidence and support the healthy risk-taking required for higher levels of learning.
Everyday arithmetic experiences involving numbers, operations, patterns, measurement, and forms are critical for your child’s development as an abstract thinker. Playing with arithmetic concepts and utilizing mathematical language creates a good foundation for more complicated math and scientific skills that will be required later in life.

WHY?

STEAM Enrichment appeals to your child’s innate need to learn by doing with Tots2toddler learning station activities that serve as platforms for hands-on experiences.
STEAM Enrichment project-based learning helps your child to think like a scientist, engineer, or designer, instilling a lifetime love of learning in them.

HOW?

Students and teachers collaborate on STEAM Enrichment projects. Children will be directed through opportunities to observe, question, predict, experiment, build, and share what they discover, with the teacher serving as a facilitator. Teachers urge students to investigate the “why” of activities and then use descriptive language to express what they have learnt by asking open-ended inquiries.
The STEAM Enrichment method of engaging children will unite the classroom community and make your child’s development visible by praising individual interests and strengths. Every week, all STEAM activities are posted in the classroom, allowing you to observe how learning comes to life at Tots2toddler.
The summer program teaches children using the same methods used during the standard school year. They’ll be engaged in plenty of play with their peers to learn valuable social skills like sharing and taking turns. They’ll focus on the summer theme and will be able to go on two field trips a week to ensure they have a chance to see the world around them. Field trips provide an exciting opportunity to see new sights and learn new skills. The children get a chance to have a lot of fun while still learning, preparing them for the next step in their education.
The summer program has a new theme each summer that differs from the themes throughout the school year to broaden the child’s knowledge and to help them learn more about everything around them.
The children will work on a variety of skills in the summer program, just like they do during the standard school year. They’ll focus on learning how to play with others, how to share, how to take turns, and how to follow directions for their safety. They’ll focus on developing their fine and gross motors skills as well as developing the skills they will need when they’re learning to read, write, and do math in later years. They can start learning the basic foundations now for the skills they’ll use throughout their time in school.

FIELD TRIPS

Every Friday, we center the excitement by featuring a variety of attractions, including bounce houses, water slides, bumper cars, cotton candy, and a station for Aloha ice where children can craft their own custom snow cones.
During tots2toddler summer program, children go on two field trips each week. They have a chance to get out of the classroom and see Gulfport. They’ll be able to go to a variety of places, with the field trips all set up to teach them as much as possible while they have fun.
During each field trip, the children will learn about safety issues and how to remain safe. Teachers will remind them of the rules in place to help them stay safe no matter where they go on the field trip. This gives them a chance to safely explore new places with their teachers who are there for guidance and assistance. Staff members who help with field trips are trained in how to keep the children safe and how to help the children learn the rules, so they know how to be safe with the class and outside of the classroom.
The children are going to have hands-on experiences that enable them to practice what they know and learn more through doing it on their own. Exploring new places teaches them about the things they see in a way that’s easier for them to learn. Instead of just reading about these places or hearing adults talk about the places to see in Gulfport, they’ll be able to experience them on their own and learn more about what interests them.
